World Euchre Championship

New Glarus, Wisconsin has been selected to host the first annual World Euchre Championship on May 13th. Euchre players from around the world (but especially New Glarus and surrounding communities) are invited to participate in this fun community event. Euchre players of all skill levels and all ages are welcome to compete in the tournament. You do not need to have a partner to participate. There will be other Euchre players available to be your partner if you do not have one. Players of all ages are encouraged to attend, however, players under the age of 21 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Wisconsin has a rich history of Euchre card playing, making it a fitting location for the inaugural World Euchre Championship. Teams consisting of two players will compete against each other in an eight-round event, starting at 1 PM at the New Glarus Fest Haus on May 13th. The team achieving the highest score will be awarded championship belts and their name forever etched on the coveted championship plaque. You will also have bragging rights for the end of time as “World Euchre Champion.” Teams finishing in first, second, and third place are expected to receive other prizes and gifts (yet to be announced), too.

Food and drinks and other fun will be available on the day of the event. So even if you are not playing or participating in the tournament you might want to come down and cheer on your favorite player or team and support New Glarus Cares.

For a donation of just $10 per person, players can reserve a seat in this action-packed tournament. All money raised during the event will be donated to the New Glarus Cares Community Foundation to be used to help fund the purchase of the greenspace at Candy Cane Park in New Glarus.

The World Euchre Championship promises to be a thrilling event, open to all Euchre players of all skill levels from anywhere in the world who want to compete against each other for the game's highest recognition and donate to a very special cause. A special thanks goes to the New Glarus Fest Haus for hosting the event.

To register and save your seat you can go to http://www.euchrechampionship.com, email info@newglaruscares.com, or on the day of the event at the Fest Haus between 12 PM and 1 PM.
