Kleeman’s Holds Meat Raffles

Kleeman's Bar & Grill announced it is hosting a meat raffle on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM at its bar located at 116 5th Avenue in New Glarus. Anyone and everyone is invited to attend. Proceeds from the event will be given to New Glarus Cares, who is using the money to donate for the purchase of the greenspace adjacent to Candy Cane Park and preserve the land as is and so it is not developed in the future.

A meat raffle is a fun event where locally raised meat and other foods are raffled off to raise money for a local charity or cause. Sometimes called a meat draw, they are used to help fund local charities by raffling off meat and foods from local butchers and cheesemakers.

New Glarus Cares Community Foundation, who will receive the funds from this raffle, is a community organization that was formed to preserve the greenspace adjacent to Candy Cane Park. While this land has acted as an extension of the park for the last 50 or more years, the land was recently listed for sale and the group hopes to raise the funds necessary to assist in purchasing the land.

Those attending can also pick up a new 2023 Wisconsin photo calendar at the event by donating any amount to the charity.

Those unable attend but wishing to donate to this important community cause may send checks made out to “New Glarus Cares Community Foundation, Inc.” and send them to Bank of New Glarus, 1101 Highway 69, Suite 11, New Glarus, WI 53574. You may also donate at NEWGLARUSCARES.com.
