2nd Annual Sledding Party in Doubt
The winter excitement is building in New Glarus as the date for the 2nd Annual Sledding Party at Candy Cane Park is approaching. New Glarus Cares has planned to hold the sledding party on Sunday, February 4th, at 12 PM, but as we all know, winter weather in New Glarus can be a little fickle at times. If we get some snow between now and this coming weekend, Sunday will be filled with winter fun, hot chocolate, chili, and community spirit.
New Glarus Cares is on high alert, hoping for the fluffy white stuff to transform Candy Cane Park into a winter wonderland. We are keeping our eyes on the skies, but the forecast doesn't seem to be in our favor. But fear not, winter enthusiasts! If there's no snowfall between now and February 4th, we have a backup plan in place.
In the event of a snowless February 4th, we will patiently wait for the next big snowfall and reschedule the sledding party for the Sunday following that snow at 12 PM. So, if the landscape looks a little brown on February 4th, don't fret – the sledding party is merely postponed, not canceled.
The festivities promise endless winter fun, and there's even more reason to attend. Toffler's Pub & Grill has joined hands with the community cause and will donate a portion of their sales from 2:00 - 6:00 pm the day of the event towards the construction of a new playground at Candy Cane Park. It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy warm drinks and good company, all while contributing to a great cause.
Stay tuned for updates as we monitor the weather conditions closely. Keep your eyes on the skies with us, and if the snow doesn't grace us on February 4th, rest assured that the sledding party will take place the Sunday after a fresh blanket of snow has covered the park.
