Grace Church Donates to New Playground
In a show of community support, Grace Church has donated $2,000 for the new inclusive playground at Candy Cane Park.
Shelly Johnson, President of New Glarus Cares, expressed her gratitude for the donation. "Grace Church's generosity is inspiring," Johnson said. "It's heartwarming to see how much our community values inclusivity and is willing to support this important project."
The playground, which will feature accessible swings, sensory play elements, and smooth pathways, has already broken ground and is expected to be completed in the next few weeks. Johnson noted that the project has garnered widespread support from many local businesses and organizations.
"We're excited to see this playground become a reality," Johnson added. "It's not just about building a playground; it's about building a community where everyone feels included and valued. The support we've received from Grace Church and others shows that New Glarus is a place where people care deeply about each other."
The inclusive playground at Candy Cane Park aims to be a model of accessibility, ensuring that all children, regardless of their abilities, have a safe and fun place to play. Once the project is completed, New Glarus Cares and the Village will be scheduling a park dedication and community picnic to show our appreciation for the community’s tremendous support.
