Celebrating Our New Logo

We are thrilled to introduce the new logo for New Glarus Cares, featuring our very likable penguin! The playful design, paired with a bold blue "snowball" behind the penguin, allows the logo to be more versatile and visible across a range of backgrounds, making it a perfect fit for our newly revamped website. With this new logo, we’ve achieved a more professional look that embodies the mission and spirit of New Glarus Cares.

This logo was brought to life by the talented graphic designer Kristie Derendinger, a proud graduate of New Glarus High School’s class of 2000, who now lives and works in a rural city north of the Twin Cities. Kristie is currently a Graphic Designer for Prudential and has been married to her husband, Brad, for 14 years—whom she met during their time at UW-Platteville. Despite living miles away, Kristie’s deep connection to New Glarus remains strong.

Kristie was inspired by the way our community came together to save the land at Killer Hill and create a playground where all the children of New Glarus can play. Though she only sledded down Killer Hill a couple of times, Kristie felt moved by the effort and wanted to use her graphic design skills to give back to the community that had meant so much to her growing up.

In addition to designing the logo, Kristie has been working closely with New Glarus Cares over the past several months, contributing not only her design expertise but also her time and creativity. She has even crafted new designs for products for online shop, which will be announced soon.

This collaboration is a wonderful example of the impact an in-kind donation in New Glarus can have. Kristie’s generosity demonstrates that you don’t need to live in New Glarus—or even leave the comfort of your own home—to make a meaningful difference. Whether you're a graphic designer, attorney, bookkeeper, web developer, or someone who wants to help with data entry, there are countless ways to contribute your skills to New Glarus Cares.

Kristie’s work stands as a testament to the power of community, creativity, and giving back. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication, and we can’t wait to share more of her beautiful work with you in the future. Thank you, Kristie, for helping us represent the spirit of New Glarus Cares in such a vibrant and professional way!
