Ingwell-Zimmerman Joins Board of Directors
New Glarus Cares is thrilled to announce that Kayla Ingwell-Zimmerman has joined the New Glarus Cares Board of Directors. Kayla's deep connection to our community, combined with her extensive experience in healthcare, youth programming, and volunteerism, makes her an invaluable addition to our organization.
Kayla is beginning her 13th year as the School Nurse for the New Glarus School District, where she has been a pillar of support for students, families, and staff. Her role has been instrumental in promoting the health and well-being of our school district. Prior to becoming the school nurse, Kayla worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at SSM Health, and she served nearly 19 years as the Parks, Recreation, and Aquatics Director for the Village of New Glarus. Additionally, she was the Youth Programs Director at the Green County Family YMCA, a role that deepened her commitment to creating opportunities for local youth.
Beyond her professional roles, Kayla has a long history of volunteerism and community involvement. She has been an active volunteer for the Wilhelm Tell Guild Board of Directors and has founded several community initiatives, including the New Glarus AlphornMan Triathlon. She also co-founded the Sugar River Rapids Youth Swim Team and volunteers as a coach for the Green County Gators Youth Swim Team. Her tireless dedication to these programs has had a lasting impact on many young people in our community.
Kayla’s decision to join the New Glarus Cares Board is rooted in her passion for giving back to the community that played such a significant role in her own life. "I’m inspired to give back to the community that afforded me a positive childhood with abundant opportunities," she shared. "New Glarus Cares checks all the boxes with its deep community involvement and championing projects that serve our youth directly."
In addition to her professional and volunteer work, Kayla is a wife and mother. She and her husband, Travis Zimmerman, have three sons: Noah, who resides in Bozeman, Montana; Eli, who is attending UW-Green Bay; and Simon, who is a senior at New Glarus High School. Family and community are at the heart of everything Kayla does, and we are excited to see how her leadership will help New Glarus Cares continue to grow and make a positive impact.
Please join us in welcoming Kayla Ingwell-Zimmerman to the New Glarus Cares Board of Directors. We are confident that her passion, experience, and dedication will further strengthen our mission of serving the New Glarus community, especially its youth.
