New Glarus Cares Receives Nonprofit 501(c)(3) Status
New Glarus Cares Community Foundation, Inc., which was formed to help raise funds for the purchase of the greenspace adjacent to Candy Cane Park, has received its 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This means all donations made to the organization since its formation in November 2022 are tax-deductible for U.S. taxpayers, to the extent allowed by law.
"We are thrilled to receive approval from the IRS for 501(c)(3) status," said Shelly Johnson, President of New Glarus Cares. "This is an important milestone for our organization, and we are grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way. We also hope that our 501(c)(3) approval will encourage even more people to donate to our cause and help push us over the top of our fundraising goal."
To date the organization has raised over $55,000 with under $20,000 left to reach its $75,000 goal.
Donations to New Glarus Cares can be made in several ways, including writing a check to New Glarus Cares and mailing it to the Bank of New Glarus at 1101 Hwy 69, New Glarus, WI 53574, making a donation online at NewGlarusCares.com, or donating through its GoFundMe page (https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-candy-cane-hill-in-new-glarus-wisconsin).
The New Glarus Cares organization said it is excited to continue its efforts to raise funds for the purchase of the greenspace adjacent Candy Cane Park for current and future generations to enjoy and it is extremely grateful for the community's support.
