New Glarus Cares Victory Party
On Sunday the New Glarus Cares Community Foundation, Inc. hosted a Victory Party at the Dirty Dog Taphaus to celebrate a significant achievement – raising the funds needed to assist in acquiring the greenspace adjacent to Candy Cane Park, including the much used sledding hill.
The event, which kicked off at 3 PM brought together community members, supporters, and partners. Guests were treated to live music by Sheriff & the Outlaw and Ticino Pizzeria provided their delicious pizza before closing its doors soon.
The highlight of the evening was the ceremonial transfer of the land from Only In Wisconsin Giving, the charitable arm of New Glarus Brewing Company, and the Village of New Glarus, symbolizing the successful completion of the greenspace acquisition campaign. This remarkable feat was made possible through the unwavering dedication and support of the New Glarus community, including generous donations from local businesses, volunteers, and individual contributors.
Shelly Johnson, President of New Glarus Cares, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a part in achieving this milestone. She emphasized that this achievement not only secures the greenspace at Candy Cane Park but also sets the stage for future projects that will enrich the community.
Additionally, the event marked a poignant moment as New Glarus Cares unveiled a beautiful painting of Candy Cane Park, created by the talented local artist Rachel Christopoulos. This artwork was presented to Only In Wisconsin Giving, thanking them for purchasing the land so New Glarus Cares had the necessary time to raise funds for their generous donation. New Glarus Cares will sell Christmas cards with this print on them at the Christkindli Market in New Glarus December 1 to 3 to raise money for its next community project.
As the sun set on this memorable celebration, one thing was abundantly clear: New Glarus Cares and its supporters have set the stage for a brighter, more vibrant future for their beloved community.
