Victory Party Scheduled

In a testament to community spirit and dedication, New Glarus Cares has announced a victory party to celebrate achieving its fundraising goal to help preserve the greenspace adjacent to Candy Cane Park. The group has asked the community to join them for an afternoon of fun, gratitude, and shared accomplishment on October 15th from 3 to 6 PM at the Dirty Dog Taphaus located at 101 6th Avenue in New Glarus.

The victory party promises to be a heartwarming gathering, where residents, friends, and supporters of New Glarus Cares can come together to commemorate the collective efforts that have made this dream a reality. Guests will be treated to live music by Sheriff & the Outlaw and the opportunity to savor one last bite of pizza from Ticino's Pizzeria before it closes its doors for good.

Shelly Johnson, President of New Glarus Cares, expressed her gratitude to the community: "This victory is a testament to the unwavering dedication and support of our community. Together, we've achieved something truly meaningful, preserving the greenspace at Candy Cane Park for generations to come. It's a moment to give thanks to everyone who helped us raise $75,000 and to celebrate our collective achievement."

There will be a brief program to conduct the ceremonial transfer of the property to the Village of New Glarus, recognize donors, share new playground equipment ideas, and honor Only In Wisconsin Giving, the charitable arm of New Glarus Brewing Company, which purchased the land and matched New Glarus Cares’ $75,000 in donations.

As it celebrates this remarkable achievement, New Glarus Cares extends a warm invitation to the community, neighbors, and friends to join them on October 15th to mark this milestone, express their thanks, and look ahead to a brighter future for Candy Cane Park and the entire community.
