Bank of New Glarus Donates $5000
In a generous display of community spirit, The Bank of New Glarus was an early contributor to New Glarus Cares’ fundraising efforts for a new inclusive playground at Candy Cane Park. Their $5,000 donation, presented by Ron Schaaf, President and CEO of The Bank of New Glarus, marks a significant milestone for the project, which aims to create a space where children of all ages and abilities can come together and play.
With this donation, New Glarus Cares has now raised nearly all of the funds needed to complete the playground, along with ADA-accessible off-street parking. The organization has been diligently working to secure funding and support from the community for the past year to bring this vision to life. The inclusive playground will feature a variety of equipment designed to be accessible to all children, including those with disabilities, ensuring that everyone can join in the fun.
The equipment for the playground was ordered by the Village of New Glarus last month and is expected to arrive by the end of August. The new playground will provide a safe and welcoming environment for children to play, learn, and grow together.
Shelly Johnson, President of New Glarus Cares expressed her appreciation for the donation stating, "We are incredibly grateful for The Bank of New Glarus' generous donation. This contribution brings us one step closer to realizing our goal of an inclusive playground at Candy Cane Park. The bank's support demonstrates their commitment to fostering a strong, inclusive community where every child can play and thrive. We are excited to see the positive impact this playground will have on our town and its families."
Residents and supporters of the new playground who wish to donate may send a check to New Glarus Cares, P.O. Box 458, New Glarus, WI 53574.
