Sledding Party a Huge Success
The sledding party hosted by New Glarus Cares on February 4, 2023, was a huge success! The foundation, which is working to preserve the 2.2-acre greenspace adjacent to Candy Cane Park, attracted many families and community members who came out to enjoy the winter weather and support the cause.
Attendees were treated to free hot chocolate, smores, and hot dogs, which were donated by Hoesly’s Meats of New Glarus. Tofflers Bar & Grill also showed their support by donating 20% of its sales from 3 PM to 6 PM on the day of the event. Thanks to the generosity of the local community, $2753 was collected at the sledding party, which means the community has so far donated more than $30,000 to purchase the greenspace at Candy Cane Park.
Shelly Johnson, the President of New Glarus Cares, was thrilled with the turnout. “It was wonderful to see so many families and community members come out to enjoy the sledding party and support our cause,” she said. “We are grateful for the support of Hoesly’s Meats, Tofflers Bar & Grill, and everyone who attended the event. Their generosity will help us preserve this valuable greenspace for future generations.”
New Glarus Cares is committed to preserving the greenspace at Candy Cane Park for future generations to enjoy. “This park is a cherished community space and we want to ensure that it remains a beautiful greenspace for everyone to enjoy for years to come,” Johnson said.
To support the cause, you can make a donation to “New Glarus Cares” and send it to Bank of New Glarus at 1101 Highway 69, Suite 11, New Glarus, WI 53574. Online donations can also be made at NEWGLARUSCARES.com.
The foundation is grateful for the support of the community and encourages everyone to continue to help preserve this valuable greenspace.
