New Glarus Cares Launches Online Shop
This holiday season, style meets purpose as New Glarus Cares proudly unveils its latest endeavor – "The Shop." This online pop-up store is not your typical retail experience; it's a celebration of fashion with a cause. Every purchase from "The Shop" directly contributes to funding the construction of a new inclusive playground.
Grant for New Inclusive Playground Received
New Glarus Cares is now focused on upgrading Candy Cane Park's playground equipment after completing the greenspace funding. They've secured an $80,000 pledge from an anonymous foundation, contingent on the Village of New Glarus matching the amount.

A Gift of Thanks
Only In Wisconsin Giving, the charitable arm of New Glarus Brewing Company, was crucial in preserving Candy Cane Park’s greenspace. They purchased the property and matched donations with $75,000. To express our gratitude, New Glarus Cares commissioned a local artist to paint Candy Cane Park for them.
The Bank of New Glarus Doubles Donation
The Bank of New Glarus showed its community spirit by volunteering at Oktoberfest and donating all beer tent tips to New Glarus Cares, totaling $152. They matched this amount, bringing their total contribution to $304. New Glarus Cares deeply appreciates their support for the playground project at Candy Cane Park.
New Glarus Cares Victory Party
On Sunday the New Glarus Cares Community Foundation, Inc. hosted a Victory Party at the Dirty Dog Taphaus to celebrate a significant achievement – raising the funds needed to assist in acquiring the greenspace adjacent to Candy Cane Park, including the much used sledding hill.

In a testament to community spirit and dedication, New Glarus Cares has announced a victory party to celebrate achieving its fundraising goal to help preserve the greenspace adjacent to Candy Cane Park. The group has asked the community to join them for an afternoon of fun, gratitude, and shared accomplishment on October 15th from 3 to 6 PM at the Dirty Dog Taphaus located at 101 6th Avenue in New Glarus.
Alter Metal Recycling Supports New Glarus Cares
Alter Metal Recycling, a worldwide leader in metal recycling for 125 years, is putting the power of recycling to good use by supporting New Glarus Cares' mission to preserve the greenspace at Candy Cane Park. For the month of August, Alter Metal Recycling will generously donate a portion of the proceeds from donated scrap metal to New Glarus Cares.

Goal to Purchase Greenspace Achieved
The New Glarus Cares Community Foundation announced on Saturday that its goal to raise half of the purchase price for the greenspace adjacent to Candy Cane Park in New Glarus was achieved. Through hard work and boundless generosity of the New Glarus community, the goal of raising $75,000 was completed.

Euchre Tournament Crowns Champions
The World Euchre Championship ended in excitement as Travis Koch and Mike Costilla from Janesville, WI, won with 106 points. Sponsored by Decatur Dairy and New Glarus Fest Haus, the event drew 144 players and many spectators to New Glarus.

Organizers are gearing up for the World Euchre Championship at New Glarus Fest Haus this Saturday, with exciting updates including a new sponsor and a range of prizes for the top three teams.

New Glarus Cares recently received its 501(c)(3) status, which means that all donations made to the organization are tax-deductible for U.S. taxpayers, and donations made since the organization's formation in October 2022 are retroactively deductible.

Beer lovers, don’t miss your chance to bid on rare brews from Dan Carey’s private collection! Each week this summer, Dan Carey, co-founder of New Glarus Brewing Company, is auctioning exclusive beers to fund the greenspace next to Candy Cane Park. Cookie Dough Being Sold to Raise Funds
New Glarus Bakery has teamed up with New Glarus Cares to help raise funds to assist in the purchase of land near Candy Cane Park. The bakery will be selling seven flavors of cookie dough in 2 lbs. containers, just in time for New Glarus High School graduation parties in early June.
Dirty Dog Taphaus Donates Money for Greenspace
Matt Belknap from the New Glarus Cares Community Foundation Board of Directors recently accepted a check in the amount of $10,000 from Dirty Dog Taphaus's owners Leah Hanson and Keith Kube. Co-owner Leah Hanson shared that she and Keith were happy to support this cause.
Inaugural World Euchre Championship Tournament
New Glarus, Wisconsin has been selected to host the first annual World Euchre Championship on May 13th. Euchre players from around the world (but especially New Glarus and surrounding communities) are invited to participate in this fun community event. Euchre players of all skill levels and all ages are welcome to compete in the tournament.
