Random Acts of Kindness Week
New Glarus Cares kicked off Random Acts of Kindness Week early by surprising employees of the Village of New Glarus, New Glarus Public Library, New Glarus EMS, New Glarus Police Department, and New Glarus Public Works and Utilities with donuts purchased from New Glarus Bakery. This gesture aimed to show appreciation for their contributions to the community.
Earth Day Community Clean-up Announced
New Glarus residents are invited to the Earth Day Community Clean-up on Saturday, April 20, from 9 AM to 12 PM. Organized by New Glarus Cares and sponsored by The Blumenladen Collective, the event starts at the greenspace north of Fat Cat Coffee Works. The first 44 volunteers get gloves and a coupon. Garbage bags will be provided; participants should wear gloves and bright clothing for safety.
Euchre Championship Sells Out
Excitement is rising in New Glarus for the 2024 World Euchre Championship on May 18-19. The event, a major fundraiser for New Glarus Cares, will help build an inclusive playground at Candy Cane Park. The doubles tournament sold out quickly, with participants from across the U.S. and Canada.
Earth Day Community Clean-up Saturday

Organized by New Glarus Cares and sponsored by The Blumenladen Collective, the event aims to beautify the town and promote environmental awareness.
Dirty Dog Taphaus Honored with Small Business Award
Leah Hansen and Keith Kube, owners of Dirty Dog Taphaus, were honored Thursday with the “Outstanding Small Business of the Year Award,” which they received at the Green County Development Corporation Annual Dinner & Awards Night at Turner Hall in Monroe.
Candy Cane Playground Listening Session March 13
New Glarus residents are invited to a crucial listening session on March 13th at 6:30 PM in the Village Hall board room to discuss the new inclusive playground at Candy Cane Park. The $200,000 project has received significant support, including $80,000 each from a private foundation and the Village. New Glarus Cares is still seeking additional funds.
Euchre Palooza This Weekend in New Glarus
Get ready for "Euchre Palooza" at the New Glarus Fest Haus on Saturday at 7 PM, part of the World Euchre Championship. Enjoy live music from Frank Busch and The Names, along with food, drinks, and community spirit, all for a great cause. Sponsored by Bicycle Cards, New Glarus Brewing, Jack Link's, Decatur Dairy, and New Glarus Fest Haus, the event features Americana tunes with country and rock vibes.

New Glarus Cares Adds Siegenthaler to Board
New Glarus Cares welcomes Mary Siegenthaler to its board of directors. A New Glarus resident for over 25 years, Siegenthaler brings extensive experience and a passion for community service. With degrees from Viterbo University and UW-Madison, she currently directs enterprise applications at Crescent Electric Supply.
Blumenladen Raises Money for Nonprofits
A heartfelt thanks to Blumenladen Collective for their support during the 12 Days of Giving and their contribution to the new inclusive playground at Candy Cane Park. The campaign raised $18,772.20, with New Glarus Cares receiving $1,564.35. Special thanks to Brenda and Duane Siegenthaler for leading this effort.
Tofflers Raises Funds for New Inclusive Playground
Despite warm weather postponing the New Glarus Cares sledding party, Tofflers Pub & Grill stepped up by donating 10% of Sunday’s sales to support the new inclusive playground at Candy Cane Park. Their generosity highlights the community's unity and support.
Transfer of Greenspace Property Complete
New Glarus Cares successfully secured 2.2 acres of land adjacent to Candy Cane Park, now owned by the Village of New Glarus. This $150,000 purchase, funded by community-raised money and a matching grant from Only in Wisconsin Giving Foundation, ensures the land remains greenspace forever.

Tofflers Pub & Grill Rallies Community Spirit
Despite warm weather canceling the sledding party at Candy Cane Park, Tofflers Pub & Grill is stepping up. On Sunday, from 2-6 PM, they’ll donate 10% of sales to New Glarus Cares for the new playground. Enjoy live music from Hammock Wilburn starting at 2:30 PM!
2nd Annual Sledding Party in Doubt
Excitement is building for the 2nd Annual Sledding Party at Candy Cane Park on February 4th at 12 PM. New Glarus Cares hopes for snow to bring winter fun, hot chocolate, and chili. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, a backup plan is ready. Stay tuned for updates!
